Activities of social studies - history pockets Book Review

One of the best sources for convenient and easy social studies activities is the series of the history of bags of books. These books provide many ideas for activities of the story without much planning or preparation for the master. Each title in the series is full of projects, all intended to be photocopied for each student. Best of all, more completed projects is flat, so it can be stored in history of student notebooks. The series consists of several titles for grades 1-3 and then more titles for grades 4-6.
Each book focuses on a historical theme and that theme is divided into several specific areas, such as daily life, Government, religion, etc. In each of these areas, you will find several projects that will fit into a "Pocket" of folded construction paper. The pockets are then punched and bound together with rope or tape to create a paperback book.
It is also an option to simply choose number of suggested activities social studies without making any pockets. Since the projects are not bulky, students could easily store the individual in their own history books. However, even if you do the book of Pocket according to the instructions, it could be established even in a notebook with the same drilled holes that were intended to bind the book together.
To give you a general idea of what each Pocket history book included, take a deep look in the book of the ancient Greece for grades 4-6. The activities start with decorated pages of facts, the activity of a map and a timeline that is ready to cut and assemble. The timeline helps students with illustrations and captions to add information as it progresses. You'll also find writing, creative to assemble and decorate brochures and abundance of low noise crafts activities. In this book, craft includes making a coat of Hoplites, an Alexander the great banner, mosaic (paper), a brochure of Olympian gods, Greek coins and more. Instructions for Taba tells first how to make the game and then how to play it.
This book is approximately 100 pages long, and most of these pages is intended to be photocopied for use by students, giving many ideas to choose. The Greek book has instructions for 9 pockets separated with activities on a subject different from ancient Greece, including daily life, religion, military power, art & architecture, Government, sports and entertainment, and more.
If you are looking for social studies to their classroom activities, you want to see all the ideas in the books of history of pockets. Students can be actively in its historical theme with these creative projects. The books give a wide selection of crafts and save the master of excessive preparation time. This is a resource that you want to add to your history lesson plans.
