What is social studies?

If you want to know what is social studies, there are many answers because social covers many areas.? All subjects as part of the social sciences are finely inter-related, making it difficult to drop or track from any side of this wide berth. Some of the disciplinary fields have been developed in:

History is part of the social studies. Delving into the past is important to make accurate projection in the future. Students learn about what happened in the past few days to predict changes in the society and understand the implications of current developments. Also, students get models of the great personalities and leaders of the past.

Another part of the answer to the question - social studies - what is geography. Students become aware of the physical world around them, countries, continents and different climates. Tribes and settlements and its impact on society are studied by students, preferably in the early, formative years. Reading and learning maps, memorize names of capitals and the vast universe makes children feel proud to be part of it. Civic education is part of social studies. The duties and rights of citizens are taught through civic education. Different forms of Government with a focus on the role of a resident clearly removed in the teaching of this topic. In other words, it educates the civilians on the laws established by the governing bodies.

What is social studies? The economy is also part of the answer. This pervasive theme all is mainly concerned with the production, distribution and consumption of goods and services by the people. It has great influence on many of the other facets of life, business, crime, Government, war, health, politics, law, education and religion. Economics students are placed at an advantage since you can conceptualize the functioning of all matters related to money.

Sociology - in a nutshell, this is the study of society. Empirical research and analysis by which social elements behave in a certain way teach students how to do better and improve the lives of people.

Social studies is important because it combines many disciplines into one. There is an interdisciplinary element in this field of study. The ability to critically analyze develops in students of social sciences which link it with math and science too. Well written lesson plans can help show students the importance of social studies.
